This is an update to a behind the scenes post called Behind the Scenes: Alana Carroll Bodypainting. Possibly the funniest/weirdest concept that I have worked on in a long time, this is the video from that day.
The behind the scenes photos that I posted have had a huge presence over the internet. The last post was picked up by the pop culture website Oddee.
This is a shoot that I did a while back. The concept was something ancient and Egyptian. I had to start by painting Azaria all over with a bronzed brown from Kryolan, you wouldn’t believe it from this picture, but she is actually Caucasian!
I then handpainted all the hieroglyphics and the make up. As you can imagine this took aaages, because each one had to have its own shadow/highlight to really make it pop. I think it was worth the effort though as it turned out quite well.
A while ago I was asked to partake in a special Bodypainting event called Naked Canvas which was organised by Beth Marshall and Claire O’Keeffe as part of the Bray Summer Festival.
It was a great day, joining fellow artists in making beautiful creations on the human body. There were so many talented people, it was fantastic.
I was assisted by the lovely Caoimhe Arrigan on the day. We used Kryolan waterbased bodypaints.

This is a fashion film that I was involved with nearly a year ago now. It was all shot on green screen and superimposed onto a cityscape. The idea behind it was that it was a fashionable girl who is reborn as an angel.
I had a really interesting project to do the other week, for a Flexxi Van online advert, bodypainting a town onto the body of Alana Carroll (Irish Sun Models Competition Runner-up).
Today I was lucky enough to be outside in the sunshine for a Photocall for fatcheese.ie. Myself and my assistant Stefania turned Nadia Forde into a stylised version of cheese. Why turn a gorgeous Irish Model into cheese you say?
It is all to announce that they have given over €250,000 cash back to @FatcheeseIE members since they started!!
Here are some behind the scenes snaps:

The bodypainting garnered a lot of attention from onlookers, haha, you can see them in the background:
Here are some shots from a recent PR Photoshoot that I did for the BT Young Scientist Competition 2012. I got to paint the girls like half bionic people. Bodypainting is my favourite kind of work and I wish I could do this every day
On Facebook recently, I already talked about the Photo Call I did recently for Sony Ericsson which went out in the Evening Herald and The Metro Newspapers. I thought I would just share a little video. It is just an experiment really, thinking about getting into doing some videos for the blog in the future, so watch this space…
The models are: Vinny Gough, Eva Grasse and Georgia Salpa
This is a shot of me with John Aldridge from a few months ago, I forgot to post the image, so here it is. He is a really down to earth gentleman. I know he is a hero to alot of Irish men out there.
