Well it has been a while since my last post, so I guess apologies are in order…but! I have and excuse. I managed to fit in a little holiday My good friend and fellow makeup artist decided to marry the man that she loves and thus I ended up spending a week in Portugal.

It was a great excuse to get away and I was delighted to have a jam-packed eventful as well as relaxed holiday.

I went Dolphin watching and managed to see about 30 dolphins which was sooo cool.

Also we were really lucky to see a turtle, I seem to have a strange connection to turtles…I did my college thesis on them, then when I went Scuba diving for the first time I saw one (which apparently is really unusual), then my first Christmas with Ronan aka my gorgeous boyfriend he gave me a turtle ring and then our first proper holiday together we see a turle…what are the chances?

It was great to be back in Malahide my hometown for another wedding. This time it was the gorgeous Nadine who was marrying Stephen.

Nadine wanted a very natural bridal look so we went for some lovely subtle golds and browns with a few individual lashes on the outer corners of her eye to add a little flirtatiousness. We also used Graftobian Airbrush Foundation to ensure that she looked flawless the whole day.

The girls were more adventurous with colour than usual for weddings, so I was delighted. Jennifer went for a beautiful purple eyeshadow smoked out to really accentuate her green eyes, with a nice black eyeliner and thick flirtatious false eyelashes. All the bridesmaids opted for variations of a navy blue smokey eye and lashes and everyone had a nice neutral lip to really play up the eyes.

This wedding really stood out as unique. Yvonne and Cillian were having a really intimate wedding with just five people in attendance! Not only that, the bride and groom stayed in the same house the night before, so all the usual traditions were not necessarily the order of the day. It was really beautiful and you could tell that the most important thing was their love for each other and at the end of the day that is what weddings are all about! I think if I was getting married I would probably go with a small wedding too!

Yvonnes makeup was kept classic and pretty, with a bit of natural definition around the eyes, we really played them up with some MAC False Eyelashes, which had a nice flick at the outer corners. Lips were kept nude with a lovely Laura Mercier gloss in Pink Champagne on top.

Her hair was done in a hairdressers earlier that morning, Yvonne kept them fresh with this hairnet which looks so vintage in all the photos! The curls had dropped a little too much, so we gave them a bit of a pep with my curling wand, which I always carry to weddings just incase!

I had the pleasure of doing Dawn’s make-up on the 16th May 2011 in Cabra Castle. She absolutely loves the colour purple, so was pretty sure that she wanted to go with pinks and purples for her make-up too. This worked really well on her as she has green eyes, so it really made her eyes glow!

We were supposed to cover her tattoo on her arm, but in the end she decided not to bother because it is a part of her…I think I would probably be the same if I had a tattoo, sure it is part of you! I would be interested to hear other people’s thoughts on this. Would you cover your tattoo? If yes, why?

I did a photoshoot recently for the top Wedding Designer Sarah Foy. She has a gorgeous collection of dresses and can make an individual design for your wedding day.
