Dublin Wedding Makeup

Dublin Bridal MakeupGetting Ready for the WeddingGetting Makeup Ready for WeddingWedding Makeup IrelandBridal Makeup Dublin

This wedding really stood out as unique. Yvonne and Cillian were having a really intimate wedding with just five people in attendance! Not only that, the bride and groom stayed in the same house the night before, so all the usual traditions were not necessarily the order of the day. It was really beautiful and you could tell that the most important thing was their love for each other and at the end of the day that is what weddings are all about! I think if I was getting married I would probably go with a small wedding too!

Yvonnes makeup was kept classic and pretty, with a bit of natural definition around the eyes, we really played them up with some MAC False Eyelashes, which had a nice flick at the outer corners. Lips were kept nude with a lovely Laura Mercier gloss in Pink Champagne on top.

Her hair was done in a hairdressers earlier that morning, Yvonne kept them fresh with this hairnet which looks so vintage in all the photos! The curls had dropped a little too much, so we gave them a bit of a pep with my curling wand, which I always carry to weddings just incase!

Egyptian Makeup and Bodypainting

Egyptian Bodypainting by Emma FarrellDublin BodypainterDublin Bodypainting Specialist
This is a shoot that I did a while back. The concept was something ancient and Egyptian. I had to start by painting Azaria all over with a bronzed brown from Kryolan, you wouldn’t believe it from this picture, but she is actually Caucasian!

I then handpainted all the hieroglyphics and the make up.  As you can imagine this took aaages, because each one had to have its own shadow/highlight to really make it pop. I think it was worth the effort though as it turned out quite well.

Behind the Scenes: Aria Spring / Summer 2012 Photoshoot

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Got to work on a photoshoot for the Spring Summer Collection for Irish fashion label Aria, which is a label similar to Arianna, from the last post, but for a slightly older target market. Again I am not able to post any pictures of the collection as it is top secret! But here are some behind the scenes photos.

A while ago I was asked to partake in a special Bodypainting event called Naked Canvas which was organised by Beth Marshall and Claire O’Keeffe as part of the Bray Summer Festival.

It was a great day, joining fellow artists in making beautiful creations on the human body. There were so many talented people, it was fantastic.

I was assisted by the lovely Caoimhe Arrigan on the day. We used Kryolan waterbased bodypaints.

Real Brides: Dawn O’Brien

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

I had the pleasure of doing Dawn’s make-up on the 16th May 2011 in Cabra Castle. She absolutely loves the colour purple, so was pretty sure that she wanted to go with pinks and purples for her make-up too. This worked really well on her as she has green eyes, so it really made her eyes glow!

We were supposed to cover her tattoo on her arm, but in the end she decided not to bother because it is a part of her…I think I would probably be the same if I had a tattoo, sure it is part of you! I would be interested to hear other people’s thoughts on this. Would you cover your tattoo? If yes, why?

Make-up Trend Alert: Autumn 2011-Iridescent peaches

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

Makeup Iradescent peachesThis is one trend that I am absolutely loving! I adore healthy looking glowing skin and this is what was found all over the catwalks. I think strobe cream from MAC is the absolute winner in achieving this look. I am also loving Lancome’s Tient Miracle for creating that dewy glowing skin. The blush is kept really fresh and youthful with the same tone on the lips. A bit of Benefit’s Chachatint is great too for recreating this look, you can use it on your cheeks and your lips.

Colour Blocking Make-up Dublin

This year you can’t but have noticed the amount of colour blocking going on in fashion. From jeans to accessories it is everywhere and make-up has not been left behind in this trend. Bright, bold colours were all over the catwalks and are a great way to add a bit of oomph to your look.
